Sponsors and Support

OBG is a registered charity and your help as a sponsor would be a difference maker; without that support we would not be able to do what we do. In the past, OBG would host an annual fundraising event called the Kressler Charity Tournament, named after Colin Kressler. This tournament was the major fundraising event for OBG. Proceeds from this tournament were used to provide opportunities to play and special instructions during the golfing season. But in large part to COVID, in 2021 it was put on hold. This makes other support that much more important.

Our season in 2024 will include 8+ different events, depending on demand it could be more, and we are proud to be hosting Youth clinics, and Ladies of Blind Golf clinics. OBG is grateful for the support of some very special people, organizations, corporations and brands. Every action taken by this special groups is dedicated to helping support the work of the volunteers and people that help make OBG happen year-after-year. These special sponsors include:

The International Blind Golf Association (IBGA) was founded in 1998. The IBGA was formed to set conditions, sanctions and provide funding for international, open blind golf events. There are 15 national associations, like BGC, and 400+ blind golfers from around the world. IBGA aspires to see blind golf in the paralympics one day.

At Blind Golf Canada (BGC), it is their mission to develop and promote competitive golf along with true sportsmanship amongst Canada’s blind and visually impaired golfers wishing to play at a national and/or international level. BGC is entering their Second Decade of Excellence, and they continue to focus on ensuring membership is indicative of the blind and vision impaired demographics of Canada.

There are 2 special events that we are planning.

The Ontario Blind Golf Championship, and dedicated Youth and Ladies of Blind golf clinics in Perth, Ontario.

Some of the sponsors OBG would like to thank for their support in 2024, and beyond, include:

The first Lions Club in Canada was established in 1920 in Ontario, and since then, the organization has grown to include over 700 clubs across the country. One of the four (4) Pillars of Service includes Vision, and thanks to vision of so many member clubs and their Lions, OBG has been able to raise significant funds to help ensure the success of our 2024 season, and our events including Ladies of Blind Golf and Youth Clinics.

The Greens at Renton is a hidden gem in Simcoe, Ontario located in the Haldimand, Nofolk-Brant, Six Nations area. It is also the proud home course of Blind Golf Canada, and supporter of all things OBG. It will also be host to the 2025 IBGA World Blind Golf Championship, the ISPS Handa Canadian Open Blind Golf Championship, and the OBG Provincial Championship.

A top-tier, 27 hole course treats every person that visits ‘The Greens’ with respect, dignity, and honour. Our blind golfers, coaches, and volunteers are grateful for their support, and our members have seen The Greens at Renton, now it is your turn to visit.

OBG is about accessibility, inclusion and diversity. That means we are always trying to help blind and visually impaired persons overcome adversity and learn to play or return to playing golf. It is not easy for many that are disabled. Financial circumstances can be a challenge, but with your help OBG will be able to help many persons with limited financial resources experience the wonder and joys of blind golf.
